Back in the Koryo Dynasty, it was a port sending supplies and horses collected as tax to the Won Dynasty. It is said to have been called Mangjang-po, either because there were layers of nets or because a smoke signal tower went up for the surveillance of Japanese.
Merging ocean and the river a breathtaking view. 'Soe' means cow, 'So' means puddle, and 'Kkak' means the end. Resembling a laying cow, its name used to be Soedun. In the deep water of Soesokkak where the ocean meets the river, there is floating Tewoo, the slowest means of transportation which moves by pulling a rope.

It is where people boiled seawater to produce salt and stored them back in the days when salt was valuable. There also is a barrack for soldiers guarding the salt.
There is a 5m waterfall located about 500 meters east to Jeongbang Falls. It is a petite waterfall and great for light swims in summer.

This Oreum is where you can get the closest look at Seop-seom(islet). It was also known as Jeol(temple)-Oreum or Jeoljigi(temple keeper)-Oreum as there used to be a cave temple and a keeper living nearby. It sits at Bomok-ri.
This is Asia's one and only coastal waterfall where the water falling straight into the ocean. The waterfall is 23m in height and 8m in width, and there is a 5m-deep pond in the ocean. The waterfall is sheltered by sedimentary rocks on both sides which is a very rare scene in Jeju.
