The route goes along coast and through downtown starting at Soesokkak-dari(bridge) and passing through Seogwipo City. Past Lee, Jung-seop Street, the route continues to Jeju Olle Tourist Center. Hike past a salt hut and Seogwipo City where culture and life are embedded, you may experience the city's unique culture and ecology. Immerse into the panoramic view of the deep blue ocean at the two landmarks of Route 6, the coastal trail at Seogwipo KAL Hotel and the Honeymoon House Observatory trail.

Starting Point : 999 Hahyo-dong, Seogwipo-si

Pass through the seaside walk while enjoying the exquisite scenery of Soesokkak, where seawater mingles with freshwater, and the Bomok-pogu(port) where you can enjoy a view of Seop-seom(island) just off the coastline. The paths are narrow and a little rough, with lots of vehicle traffic. Toilets at Soesokkak and Bomok-pogu(port) are open to public.

Route Tip

You have many options shortly after Jeongbang Falls. There are also many cafes and restaurants on Lee Jung-seop Street. There are reasonable restaurants that serve fresh foods at Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market. The restaurant on the first floor of Jeju Olle Tourist Center at the finishing point serves dishes prepared with Jeju ingredients and local craft beer.

The compelling Five Lakes Walk takes you Blauherd to Sunnegga, passing by five mountain lakes on the way. You will be captivated by the reflection of the Matterhorn in the waters and by the many colourful alpine flowers around the lakes. Leisee and Grunsee lakes are great spots for a refreshing dip. The Zermatt 5-Lake Trail is twinned with Jeju Olle Trail Route 6.

Mangjang-pogu(port)

Back in the Koryo Dynasty, it was a port sending supplies and horses collected as tax to the Won Dynasty. It is said to have been called Mangjang-po, either because there were layers of nets or because a smoke signal tower went up for the surveillance of Japanese.

Soesokkak

Merging ocean and the river a breathtaking view. 'Soe' means cow, 'So' means puddle, and 'Kkak' means the end. Resembling a laying cow, its name used to be Soedun. In the deep water of Soesokkak where the ocean meets the river, there is floating Tewoo, the slowest means of transportation which moves by pulling a rope.

Gudumi

It is named after the shape of the area which looks like the head and tail of a turtle. There is abundant seafood in the ocean, and on the ground are farmland and bedrock.

Sogeummak

It is where people boiled seawater to produce salt and stored them back in the days when salt was valuable. There also is a barrack for soldiers guarding the salt.

Sojeongbang-pokpo(waterfall)

There is a 5m waterfall located about 500 meters east to Jeongbang Falls. It is a petite waterfall and great for light swims in summer.

Lee, Jung-seop Art Gallery

Next to the restoration of Painter Lee, Jung-seop's House is a newly-built art gallery. There are not many pieces of him, but it is fun enough to go through the postcards he exchanged with his wife. In the garden, the song 'Seogwipo 70-li' plays over and ove

Jejigi Oreum(small extinct volcano)

This Oreum is where you can get the closest look at Seop-seom(islet). It was also known as Jeol(temple)-Oreum or Jeoljigi(temple keeper)-Oreum as there used to be a cave temple and a keeper living nearby. It sits at Bomok-ri.

Jeongbang-pokpo(waterfall)

This is Asia's one and only coastal waterfall where the water falling straight into the ocean. The waterfall is 23m in height and 8m in width, and there is a 5m-deep pond in the ocean. The waterfall is sheltered by sedimentary rocks on both sides which is a very rare scene in Jeju.
