Neither Oreum nor bong(peak), but there are seven mountains in Jeju Island. Except for Youngjoosan, you can see six of them in Gapa-do: Halla-san, Sangbang-san, Songak-san, Gun-san, Gogeun-san, and Dan-san.

It is where the village hosts a memorial service every year in January by the lunar calendar. To these days, seven men are ed as attendants staying at the house near the altar for three nights and four days. During the period, they avoid bad lucks and perform memorial service with a live pig and chicken.
There is an ornated small platform on the rock on the east of pogu(port). It is the shrine of the Sea Gods called ‘Donji Harubang and Donji Halmang protecting Sangdong fishers and Haenyeos. It is visited either on the Lunar New Year's Day or June 8. Traditional exorcism is performed once in few years. There are two Halmang shrines in Gapa-do, in Sangdong and Hadong.
